Bolder Industries, pioneer in the recycling of discarded car tyres, is setting foot in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges. They are giving the go-ahead for the development of a new recycling plant in the NextGen District. Bolder Industries partners up with Antea Group for the supervision of the entire permitting process. Together we strive for a sustainably growing port in Antwerp.

The B-Corp certified recycling company, Bolder Industries, converts post-consumer and post-industrial tyres into new circular raw materials for rubber, plastic and petrochemical products. They also develop carbon black alternatives to petroleum with minimum waste. These innovative processes for sustainable reuse of the chemicals in discarded car tyres deliver enormous environmental savings in the rubber and plastics industry and for their customers. As much as 75% of the solids and liquids find their way back into new tyres and other products.

For their latest recycling plant, Bolder Industries has chosen the NextGen District in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges. A smart move because of its specific location – near the largest petrochemical cluster in Europe – the multimodal transport possibilities, and the site's focus on circular economy. We are therefore pleased to guide Bolder Industries through the entire permitting process. It is yet another step towards building a sustainably growing port and a liveable city of Antwerp.
