Get to know Robrecht
For this edition of All Anteaan, we interviewed Robrecht Lippens, the leader of the Digital Competence Center. He shares his insights on the digital transformation within our organization and his personal vision for the future.
What exactly is the Digital Competence Center?
“The DCC represents Antea Group’s digital ambitions. We noticed an increasing demand for digital innovation, both from our clients and colleagues. That’s what prompted us to initiate a digital transformation. The DCC gives this transformation a tangible form and ensures that we accelerate this process within the organization.”
What is your role within the DCC?
Essentially, I’m the only permanent team member of the DCC, but I collaborate closely with colleagues across all business units. Initially, the focus was on identifying needs and translating them into larger projects or themes. We eventually selected six main themes, always keeping the client in mind. It’s crucial to carefully consider whether a particular digital solution is something the client truly needs. We’re learning every day, but we also aim to inspire and support others with our digital ambitions.”
Can you share some of your biggest achievements so far?
“Of course! One project I’m particularly proud of is the Digital Twin. This initiative has been ongoing for two years and has helped us develop a long-term vision and secure budget allocations. We also established the Coding Academy, where employees learn to automate processes and code. The goal is to empower colleagues to develop their own solutions rather than simply providing ready-made tools. This approach has already resulted in two new tools, one of which is still in the testing phase. Additionally, we’re working extensively on data visualization using Power BI.”
How do you experience the opportunities Antea Group provides for this?
“It’s refreshing. Digitalization was often seen as a burden or obstacle in the past, but we’ve already achieved a lot, and people are beginning to see the benefits. There’s a clear focus within the organization, and you can feel the commitment to digitalization.”
If you had to choose one of Antea Group’s values, which one would it be?
“Decisiveness. At heart, I’m a project manager, and I love doing whatever it takes to bring a project to a successful conclusion. That’s my ultimate drive.”
