Nature-enhancing urban planning and sponge cities

Cities increasingly need to rely on their natural resilience. Green spaces and water are indispensable in this regard. At Antea Group, we contribute to solutions that unite nature, water, and urban development. Through the Green Deal Climate-Resilient Environment, we work with local governments and partners to make this possible.

Questions? Let's get in touch.

What is it?

The Green Deal Climate-Resilient Environment helps cities and municipalities become stronger by smartly utilizing natural green spaces and water. We do this by promoting biodiversity, strengthening our water system, and optimizing the use of green spaces.

In a resilient city, green spaces are used in the broadest sense of the word: from the ecosystem, the water system, and the living environment of the residents. Connectivity and resilience in the green-blue network are crucial for the survival of species and coping with extreme weather conditions. Moreover, they also serve as natural air conditioning for the residents. This way, we build cities that are ready for the future while remaining attractive places to live, work, and relax.

What do we promise?

Within this Green Deal, we focus on four concrete pillars:

  1. Space-Neutral Densification: We create more space by using existing buildings more intelligently. Think of reconversion, innovative housing typologies, and location strategies that protect our open spaces.
  2. De-hardening: By removing hard surfaces, we restore soils and make room for green spaces and water, essential for a healthy city.
  3. Green-Blue Solutions: With 'nature-based solutions,' we integrate nature into our designs, from parks to green facades and roofs. These solutions reduce heat stress, increase biodiversity, and make cities more pleasant.
  4. 3/30/300 Rule: We aim for urban environments where every home has a view of 3 trees, neighborhoods consist of 30% green spaces, and everyone lives within 300 meters of a green zone.

With our own climate tools, we measure how projects contribute to a sustainable living environment. Together, we build the city of tomorrow.
